Today we are going to give thanks to God for our family.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Some are big, some are small. Some are close together, some are spread across the world.

Let’s pray today for each member of our family to know that God loves them and that they would know that we love them, whether we’re together or apart.

It’s time to find some coloured paper and scissors!

 

Start by thinking about how many people there are in your family that you want to pray for today.

Cut out a heart shape for each person. Try to make them roughly the same size.

Then fold the hearts in half and cut out their middle section.

 

Open out the hearts and make a small cut in the side of each one.

Now it’s time to link the hearts together, a bit like making a paper chain. As you join them together think about each member of your family. You can either use glue or Sellotape to close the links and keep them together.

If you like you could write each person’s name on a heart.

 

Hang your hearts up somewhere you can see them. With the family you live with, talk about God’s love. How do we know God loves us? And how can we show that love to others?
