St Peter's and St Francis'

Sharing our Experience of God's Love

Thy Kingdom Come

In 2016, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York asked the Church of England to pray for moreLord's Prayer people to come to know Jesus. By 2019, Christians from 172 countries took part in this mission

During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, we will be praying that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ. The aim is that everyone who takes part will:

Deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ

Pray for Friends or family to come to faith in Jesus

After the very first Ascension Day, the disciples gathered with Mary to pray while they awaited the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Like them, we rely on the gift of the Holy Spirit – on our own we can do nothing.

Through the centuries, Christians have gathered to pray between Ascension Day and Pentecost. Thy Kingdom Come picks up this tradition. We pray for those who have not yet heard the Good News of Jesus Christ to hear it and follow Him. Specifically, we invite every Christian to pray for God’s Spirit to work in the lives of 5 friends who have not yet responded to God’s call.

Light Up

In the past, we have encouraged people to come in to St Peter's and use the Prayer Stations that we have set up.  We cannot do that this year, so we invite you to join us online instead.         Double Click the Map to zoom in
